Taking to the Cliffs and Searching the Night
Summertime equals technical training for us! We began the month with “Jesse’s Big Day”. One of our trainers, Jesse, loves to test our abilities in a BIG way. This year, we had 2 simulated fallen climbers at Devil’s Head, a popular climbing area in the Rampart Range in southwest Douglas County. The “climbers” had gotten stuck on a ledge and needed to be lowered to safety… Continue reading about our two July trainings here!

Meet Travis! Travis grew up in upstate New York in a rural town where he gained a lot of outdoor experience. He proudly served our country as a Marine for four years. (Oorah!) In 2007, Travis moved to Colorado with his wife, three children, and assorted pets. On the order of his doctor, he was told he needed to find an activity that would take him out of the office and away from computers. In 2012, he joined DCSAR… Read more about Travis on our website! |

Join the Volunteer Class of 2019
We all have different passions in life: perhaps a passion to travel the world, passion to sing, and so many more. As volunteers of DCSAR we all have the passion to save lives. If you wish to make a difference in Douglas County, DCSAR may be the place to find your passion. We are 100% volunteers who wish to enrich our community by providing search and rescue services at no charge. If you’re interested in joining, send an email to info@dcsarco.org. The class of 2019 will be our last class until 2021 (due to our year-long recertification requirements of the Mountain Rescue Association in 2020).
Thank you to all who joined us on July 17th for the new member informational meeting. We look forward to you joining the team!
